| While there are obviously many books on the market, I would like to recommend an excellent book which I personally purchased about fifteen years ago when I first entered the saltwater aquarium hobby. This book was written by Dick Mills, and is put out by Tetra Press. On the cover it says The Tetra Encyclopedia Of The Marine Aquarium. The last three words are in big yellow letters. This book covers just about everything you need to know as a beginner marine aquarist, including choosing an aquarium, lighting and filtration systems, aquarium decor, protein skimmers, fish and invertebrate species, fish compatibility, etc. I don't know if it is still in print, but it would be worth checking out.
