| Tropical Fish Forum - About Us |
| Hello. You may call me TheFishGuy. I began the Tropical Fish Forum messageboard back in June of 2008, although until its redesign in April of 2011, it was known as TheFishGuy's Messageboard. While I am originally from the continental USA, I have resided on the West Pacific island of Guam in the Mariana Islands chain for over twenty-five years now. I am by no means new to the tropical fish hobby. I have been fascinated by it since my teenage years many years ago, and I have maintained both freshwater and marine aquariums of various sizes during different periods of my life. In fact, not quite two decades ago, I was a manager at a local pet store. Later, I also began my own small aquarium design and maintenance business. I designed and maintained aquariums -- both freshwater and saltwater -- ranging in size from twenty gallons to three hundred gallons. Currently, I maintain a forty-five gallon Malawi cichlid tank which provides me with many hours of enjoyment. It is situated right next to my computer, and so I often find myself talking to my fish, either telling them "No, it's not feeding time right now", or else, "Go on now, it's time to sleep". And, of course, I always admire them for their beauty. For a time, back during the late 1980's, I was also a DJ at a local, adult-contemporary radio station. In addition to tropical fish, I also enjoy working on my computer. I have been a dedicated Macintosh user since 1990. Currently, I work on a 27" 2.8 GHz Quad Core i7 iMac with 8 GB of RAM and 512 MB of VRAM. I enjoy web design, and most of the graphics that can be found on the sites that I operate were made in Adobe Photoshop, which I enjoy using, despite its very steep price tag. In times past I was also a major sci-fi buff. I have watched most of the major sci-fi TV shows which have aired over the past fifty plus years, and viewed an untold number of sci-fi related movies. I enjoyed other genres of movies and TV shows as well, but sci-fi was definitely my favorite. But actually, that is all behind me now, as life is short, and I have much more important things to do with my remaining years. More specifically, I have been a life-long Christian, and have dedicated a substantial part of my life to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the USA, Mexico, and Japan. At this stage in my life, my work for the Lord is the most important thing to me. Everything else pales by comparison. In addition to this messageboard, I also run two other messageboards -- the Endtime Prophecy Net Messageboard and the Aliens and UFO's Messageboard -- as well as the Endtime Prophecy Net website, the Top Christian Sites topsites list, and the Aliens and UFOs website. The Endtime Prophecy Net website also includes a blog, a guestbook and a chatroom. That's about it. Once again, I hope that you enjoy your visit here at the Tropical Fish Forum messageboard.
